​The Town of Cherokee Ridge is set amid the spectacular natural beauty of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.  Rolling hills, lakes and streams pair with golf, trails and club amenities.  Incorporated May 26, 2021, the community of Cherokee Ridge was originally established in 1992 by the late Sid McDonald.  Cherokee Ridge is a safe, friendly, growing town with over 200 homes and more than 400 residents.  It features an 18-hole championship golf course, a pool, playground, multi-purpose court with basketball goal, tennis court and pickleball court.  
Cherokee Ridge is:
  • An oasis of peaceful, picturesque country living, only 20 minutes from all the advantages of Alabama’s largest city, Huntsville;
  • An easy commute to major employers including NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the Army's Redstone Arsenal, numerous government contractors and other businesses and industries;
  • Cherokee Ridge is served by Marshall County Schools.  The Arab City School system is approximately 7 miles from Cherokee Ridge but you must apply and be accepted if you live outside of the city limits of Arab, Alabama. 
  •  Close to several campuses of higher learning including the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Snead State Community College; 
  • Nearby quality medical care including Marshall Medical Centers, part of the Huntsville Hospital System (which features a Level 1 Regional Trauma Center), and the Crestwood Medical Center;
  • A short drive to numerous recreation and cultural opportunities including the Tennessee River, Lake Guntersville,  the Von Braun Center (for more information visit Marshall County Tourism and Sports and the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau;
  • Protected by the Brindlee Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, with an ISO rating of 5/5X, is one of only a handful of volunteer fire departments in Alabama with a license to provide Advanced Life Support emergency medical services.​
